Four alumni receive the Order of the Golden Heart award
The Order of the Golden Heart is SigEp’s highest honor. Reserved for alumni who provide exceptional service to the Fraternity over the course of a lifetime, only 151 of SigEp’s 300,000 lifetime members have ever been named to the Order.
Tonight, four more brothers were added to the list.
New Grand President and National Board of Directors installed
At the end of the Alumni Awards Dinner tonight, outgoing Grand President Bert Harris, Florida ’74, spoke for the last time, thanking brothers and friends for the time he had to lead the Fraternity. As he closed his remarks, he announced the newly elected members of the National Board of Directors.
“You are the new national directors of SigEp,” Harris said. “In your hands rests the destiny of our Fraternity for the next two years… we look to you for leadership.”

The Arête Awards Luncheon Saturday afternoon played host to the delivery of two prestigious SigEp awards: The Sigma Phi Epsilon Citation, which recognizes brothers who have relentlessly pursued excellence in their chosen professions, and the Cornerstone Award, presented to Alumni and Volunteer Corporations who have worked diligently to provide undergraduates with living-learning facilities that guide excellence.
CAMPUSPEAK brings laughs and reflection
SigEp brothers and friends enjoyed dynamic educational speakers this Friday and Saturday hosted by CAMPUSPEAK.
Co-founder and SigEp alumnus David Stollman, Maryland ’94, lead one of the discussions. His talk, “Buy in or GET OUT!” expounded on why SigEps have a duty to live their cardinal principles every day. He said brothers must learn to embrace those committed to living a values-focused life and hold members accountable when they fall short.
Another popular session was “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the Opposite Sex,” facilitated by Dr. Lori Hart.
”What is it that is mind-boggling about women?” Hart asked the crowd, before leading a conversation about communication and relationships.
