Furthering Sigma Phi Epsilon’s community involvement, “Project America” was adopted as the fraternity’s national service-learning initiative at the 1997 Conclave in Phoenix, Arizona. Project America is a national program promoting the value of community service among young people. On Project America Day, held each year on a Saturday in October, SigEps and other volunteers immerse themselves in such projects as cleaning up neighborhoods, holding food drives, and visiting hospitals. The nineties proved to be a successful year for SigEps both home and abroad. Also, by this Conclave more than half of all SigEp chapters have adopted the Balanced Man Program.
