9th Conclave • November 27-29, 1916 • Richmond, VA
While SigEps like Paul and Kiffin Rockwell volunteered their lives for the “Great War,” and brothers like Leonard Nason prowled Mexico’s northern desert in search of the elusive Francisco “Pancho” Villa, brothers at home celebrated SigEps 15th anniversary at the Richmond Conclave in 1916. Since the previous Conclave in Atlanta, in 1914, seven active chapters have been added for a total of forty. All sent delegates, with total attendance hovering around ninety-five.
Membership restrictions still appeared in the revised constitution of 1916, but would be abolished in less than fifty years.
